GHD History, Growth and Success

 

The history of GHD follows back to 2001 when the famous name came to life and the company was born. At first the brand became popular with the celebrity market and then soon became a fashion icon and grew to the rest of the nations market.

 

In 2002 was a very exciting start to this young company by producing/manufacturing lots more of there products and also expanding the business into Australia where they started there first launch down under.

 

In 2003 the company grew and grew and invested into heavier media marketing by advertising for the first time on television. By this time during this year GHD was soon become the name of designer hair strengtheners. The annual turnover hits 12 million pounds and increases its awareness by expanding and launching into South Africa, Spain, Italy and Scandinavia.

 

In 2004 was a big year as the company decided to take on the USA by launching its products and heavy marketing campaigns. This year proves to be a success GHD annual turnover is a whopping 37 million pounds. On the strength of this result the company launch the attractive looking Pink GHD’s for them girly girls who just love everything pink.

 

In 2005 the company just carries on growing with enormous strength as it takes London, Durban and New York fashion weeks by storm. Also within this year GHD launches its expert schemes and grows the company turnover to 54 million pounds. This made the company the “fastest growing company” as awarded by the Sunday Time fast track.

 

In 2006 launches its global website and increase recognition by expanding into France and Germany. The market of a new product called Hot Pink is supported by models Leah Wood and Kimberly Stewart. The company is still ever increases in sales and turnover thus increasing its annual t/o to 75 million pounds.

 

In 2007 proves to be a busy year for this young company, the IV styler is introduced and goes on sale in the UK. GHD supports both the New York fashion week and the Paris fashion week which is a huge achievement. They also launch the new branding “Thy Will Be Done” which is heavily broadcasted across television screens and fashion magazines. Big celebrity names join in waiting to support GHD pink for breast cancer, these include Madonna, Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltro. Now in this year the company turnover reaches 115 million pounds.

 

The present year of 2008 GHD again supports the fashion week in Paris for the second year running and also launches its new products Dark or Pure limited edition stylers. All we can say now about this company is watch this space as im sure there will be more exciting things to come.
