GHD founded in 2001 by Martin Penny, Since Martin founded GHD it has gone from strength to strength with worldwide success.  When GHD was first founded no one thought that it would be as bigger success has it has proven to be.

GHD was given the title ‘Fastest Growing Company’ in 2005 by the Sunday Times.  In year two of the company launching, GHD was expected to make between £3 an £4 Million, shockingly to GHD they did a staggering £12 Million, in the 3rd year it was expected to make £5 Million and managed a turnover of an outstanding £37 Million.  These figures prove that GHD is the most successful hair product.

Martin Penny got approached by a Yorkshire based company.  The company had been given a sample of ceramic hair straightening tools from South Korean, the company strongly advised Martin to buy rights for the hair tools. With GHD’s being the first of their kind it wasn’t long before other hair stylist and companies started to follow the trend with ceramic tools and then straightened hair became a new big thing of the 21st century.

A lot of the success and the reputation came from salons wanting to use, promote, and advertise the product.  The help of celebrities using the product also made GHD hair straighteners the most wanted and in demand beauty product.  GHD is established in 15 different counties.  Because of the success that GHD received it was able to expand on their products and make limited editions, colours, and other tools for styling, as well as products. The company have produced many products over the years, all of which has helped to contribute towards to the success of the company.
